Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes (Paperback)

Chrysanthemum is Kevin Henkes's classic picture book about a girl who adores her unusual name until her first day of school, when classmates tease her for being named after a flower. Funny and honest, the story gently explores teasing, self-esteem and learning to accept who you are. Written and illustrated by the creator of Owen and Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse, it is a favorite for back-to-school reading at home and in class.
