I Choose My Beginning by Nadia Murad (Hardcover)

I Choose My Beginning is a memoir by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Nadia Murad, author of the New York Times bestseller The Last Girl. In 2014, fighters from the Islamic State attacked her village in northern Iraq, killing many of her family members and taking her captive. Murad recounts her path from that captivity to becoming a global human rights activist, and reflects on what comes next as she rebuilds a life of her own.
