R.U.R. (Rossum's Universal Robots) by Karel Čapek (Paperback)

R.U.R. (Rossum's Universal Robots) is the groundbreaking 1920 play by Czech writer Karel Čapek, the work that introduced the word robot to the world. It is set in a factory that mass-produces artificial workers to serve humanity, until the robots begin to question their role and rise up against their makers. This Penguin Classics edition presents a short, thought-provoking drama about technology, labor and what it means to be human.
