Someone in the House by Barbara Michaels (Mass Market Paperback)

Someone in the House is a classic gothic suspense novel by Barbara Michaels, the pen name of bestselling author Elizabeth Peters, creator of the Amelia Peabody mysteries.

A group of academics spends a summer in an old English-style manor house to work on a scholarly project. Before long, strange occurrences begin to disturb the household, and it becomes clear that the house itself may be harboring something dark and malevolent.

Atmospheric, witty and genuinely eerie, it is a treat for fans of haunted house stories and classic romantic suspense.
