How people use it
The usual method is brutal and effective: work through a stack, and every card you miss goes into a second pile. Run the second pile again. Repeat until it is empty. Because the cards are grouped by colour, putting them back in order afterwards takes seconds rather than an evening.
Works for high-school and college Spanish, for adults preparing to travel, and as a paper break from vocabulary apps. Two people and one deck also makes a decent quiz game.
